The COLD CHAIN Regulatory Requirements
There is now legislation in nearly all countries to ensure that all regulatory controlled drugs are protected from the effects of out of specification temperature storage, since it is now accepted that there are known cases where the efficacy of drugs has been directly impaired because they were not store at the specified temperature. In fact nearly one thousand instances in one relatively small health authority. It is now mandatory to ensure your fridges and freezer are cGxP compliant.

For cGxP compliance all refrigerators and freezers used in the cold chain must be brought in to line with the current legislation and should already be fitted with;-

  1. An external indication of internal temperature.
  2. A door not closed alarm.
  3. A power cord electric power on or off alarm.
  4. A temperature out of specification alarm.
  5. A Controlled entry system.

FRIDGE GUARD – ESSENTIAL FOR COMPLIANCE.

Every refrigerator, freezer, walk-in, or chilled display cabinet must have the following attributes to ensure compliance with cGxP’s. (continuing Good clinical/laboratory/manufacturing Practices).

External indication of internal temperature.
Fridge Guard – Has a dual display, indicating room temperature and cabinet temperature.

Out of specified temperature alarm.
Fridge Guard has – Has high and low alarms, audible & visual, with a selector for fridge (2 to 8°C) or freezer (-23 to –9.5°C) temperatures, and is selectable °C/°F.

Door open to long alarm.
Fridge Guard – Has a timed alarm, audible & visual, that allows you a preset time (15 seconds) with the door open before the alarm activates.

Power disconnected Alarm.
Fridge Guard – clips to the fridge/freezer power cable and goes into alarm, audible & visual, if power is not sensed in the cable.

Secure controlled access.
Fridge Guard – has a solenoid activated door lock, that is release by entering a four digit PIN code into a standard key pad.

FRIDGE GUARD CAN BE FITTED TO YOUR FRIDGE OR FREEZER IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES BY ANY HANDYMAN. All WIRING IS COMPLETE. ONE HOLE TO BE DRILLED, SIX SELF TAPPING SCREWS TO BE FITTED. FRIDGE GUARD IS MAINS POWERED - 90/230v AC, AND IS DESIGNED TO SIT ON THE FRIDGE TOP OR ANY OTHER HORIZONTAL SURFACE.
